Dear friends
Sociology students’ club ‘Discrepancy’ and Sociology students’ association ‘Anomie’ from Croatia are extremely happy to invite you to participate at ESSA Summer school 2006: Contemporary sociology of culture. The school takes place in Zagreb, Croatia, May 11 – May 15, 2006. 5 lecturers, coming from Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia and Montenegro, will, each in their own workshop and from their own standpoint, address the issues concerning the theme. All the info and the list of workshops with their summaries you can find online.
We are kindly asking everyone interested to fill in the application form and send it to the following e-mail address essa_zagreb_2006@yahoo.com ; please note that the application deadline is 7 April 2006. When applying, everybody is required to submit a short essay (2-3 pages) on the position of the sociology of culture today…
Accommodation / food and a part of traveling expenses will be covered by the organizers.
Participation fee: 20 euros (intended for the solidarity fund which will cover a part of the traveling expenses)
We’re very proud to say that we most probably managed to provide 3 ECTS points that will be granted on satisfactory completion of workshop requirements!!! We’re still waiting for a final decision of the responsible institutions, but the chances are quite big because we got support from the Department for sociology on Faculty of philosophy in Zagreb and the Faculty of philosophy in Zagreb itself. Of course that will require some of your extra efforts in the preliminary stage; meaning: THE LITERATURE GIVEN BY THE PROFESSORS FOR THE WORKSHOPS WILL OBLIGATORY HAVE TO BE READ 🙂
We are looking forward to recieving your applications and seeing you in Zagreb! We are also asking you to distribute the official announcement (in attachment) to everyone possibly interested in it and also to print and put it on the announcement boards of your faculties.
For any additional questions please feel free to contact us on above e-mail address.
Sincerely
Bruno Vojvodic –
organization board for ESSA Summer school 2006.
