Under the auspices of ESSA, Sociology Students’ Club’s ”Discrepancy” and ”Anomie”, both from Croatia, are extremely happy to invite you to participate at:


ESSA SUMMER SCHOOL 2005:
SEX AND GENDER IN TRANSITIONAL COUNTRIES

The school will take place in Pula, beautiful historical town on the north Croatian coast, on the peninsula Istria, May 12-16. There will be six workshops where lecturers from Croatia, Slovenia and USA will give their best to present the problems related to the theme from various perspectives.

Along with the academic part, elections for the new ESSA executive board will be held. Thus, ESSA members are encouraged to consider applying for the executive board, which will allow them to lead the association for one year. Current executive board is from Slovenia, and you are more than welcomed to contact them with any questions related to the assembly at: jjarec@yahoo.com (Jasa Jarec).

We are kindly asking everyone interested to fill the application form and send it to the following e-mail address essa_pula_2005@yahoo.com , the latest until April 26, 2005. Apart from this, everyone is expected to write down a short essay (2-3 pages) on the topic ”Modern society and sexual liberalization”.

Organizers will unquestionably cover accommodation/food expenses and bus from Zagreb to Pula and back.

Participation fee: 20 euros (goes into solidarity fund from which part of travelling expenses are refunded)
